We are a family-driven foundation rooted in the belief that education changes lives.

Pathways to Learning Foundation was created by Yesenia and Richard Watters out of a shared commitment to expanding educational opportunity for students who face financial and systemic barriers. For Yesenia, this mission is deeply personal—she attended school in El Salvador as a child and understands firsthand how access to education can shape a future. For Richard, education has long been a pathway to leadership, service, and community impact.

Over several years, Yesenia and Richard have supported scholarships for students in El Salvador, helping cover tuition, school supplies, and essential needs that allow students to remain in school. During a recent visit, they had the opportunity to meet students and families in person—witnessing both the challenges students face and the extraordinary determination they bring to their education. They also celebrated a meaningful milestone: seeing students they have supported progress toward graduation and beyond.

These experiences affirmed a simple truth—talent and ambition exist everywhere, but opportunity does not.

Education Pathways Foundation exists to help close that gap. We support students not only through scholarships, but also through the practical resources that make learning possible—books, technology, infrastructure, and graduation support—so students can focus on learning, growing, and building their futures with confidence and dignity.

Our work is grounded in relationships, accountability, and long-term impact. We believe in walking alongside students, families, and communities, and in creating pathways that extend beyond the classroom toward opportunity, stability, and hope.
